Homework
A big focus in second grade is increasing independence and responsibility for materials. Each student is responsible for writing down the daily homework assignment in his or her own agenda. Homework will consist of a nightly worksheet and nightly reading. Extra reading is always encouraged!
Homework will NOT be graded for accuracy. Homework WILL be graded for completion.
We expect for students to spend no more than twenty minutes a night on homework, and another twenty minutes reading. If your child gives you twenty minutes of quality work, simply draw a line at the bottom of the page to let me know how where your child stopped. We do not want it to be a punishment if they do not understand, it is intended only for reinforcing classroom learning. Remember, homework is all about PRACTICE!
